The Covid-19 pandemic has turned a spotlight on American politics precisely during the presidential election cycle. With recent events, especially Russia announcing a registered vaccine, I wonder if Trump may advertise to voters that only he can procure a deal with his special friend Putin for access to the vaccine, only if he is elected. The vaccine maker has already announced it will be publicly available on January 1, 2021, but that could simply add to a juicy plot twist.
On a different angle, world history now has a scenario, about as opposite to America as possible, providing a case study for historians and future politicians. The question is whether world future will learn from history. Judging from history, probably no.
