Niantic updated shadow pokemon with offsetting stronger attack and weaker defense. If the opponent hits you less often than your attacks, then you may come out ahead. The cost for powering up shadow pokemon has been reduced to a modest 20% markup. Since the regular power up stardust cost has never changed, I thought the […]
Niantic’s latest move addition, Rock Wrecker, required GAME MASTER parser improvements. In the process, I found a minor bug in the GAME MASTER file which was introduced in September, 2019. I would like to report it, but it is a minor bug, and Niantic has severely constrained their bug reporting method (sorry Remy, it is […]
While waiting for Battle League bug fixes, curiosity crept in to see how Combat Moves rank quantitatively. The latest build (054) adds the quantitative ranks. Please be patient at launch while parsing the GAME MASTER. In a touch of serendipity, I also realized how to simplify a bunch of redundant code. The next release should […]
Pokemon GO recently added Battle League elements into the GAME MASTER. The latest Pokelog build (053) improves parsing for the new elements. Best of luck in your battles!
I wish I had them. If only they were free. For small projects, I am doubtful they are cost effective. For large projects, the answer would seem obvious, but maybe large projects could be modularized to be manageable? Well, another good reason is maintenance when code support is shifted to someone else, but if modules […]
The latest Pokelog build (051) is mostly minor bug fixes. The most notable change is adding in stardust costs for Shadow, Purified, and Lucky pokemon forms. Shadow pokemon are common enough that I became annoyed performing the simple math to find the regular stardust cost. So now you may use the precise costs, just make […]
Pokelog’s latest build (050) features a revamped main interface for major performance gains. The interface style is now what’s known as master-detail. Most significantly, the move selection popups are now located in the detail area. The interface was streamlined and overall, feels snappy, the way it should be. Hope you find it useful.
The introduction of Galar forms was uneventful in that there were no new features requiring updates. In the relative calm, I was able to refactor some code for minor performance optimizations. Taking a bigger step back, I plan to revamp the main log view for more significant performance. I noticed the current view began showing […]
Eevee is a master evolver with the most options. Unfortunately, I have not had many occasions to explore them until recently. Accordingly, Pokelog build 040 has some important fixes to accommodate the options as well as display them properly. Lastly, there were several minor bug fixes.
Pikachu in Halloween 2019 form has marked a significant step both outside the realm of Pokemon and in programming support. The new costumes are not simply variants but full fledged forms, which seems odd considering that Pokemon has well defined forms. All of the various hats, costumes, and adornments were simply bits of code, hidden […]
